Countdown to the End of an Era
As Sunday quickly approaches, I have fallen into a slight depression. (FYI: Sunday marks the annual 3-on-3 charity basketball tournament. It's the last official game for the Manly Mustache Franchise)
Upon reflecting on such a masterful dynasty, one can only recall the joyous moments we have all partaken in...together. So, on Sunday, (go ahead and relax yourself) you can be assured that a large quantity of posts will be written. (Or at least one really long post)
The Schedule for Sunday:
Play our games.
Officially retire the Manly Mustache Jerseys.
Pictures/Video Highlights of our final games.
Post-Game Interviews.
The first annual Manly Mustache Awards. (MMA's)
Official voting for the Mustache Play of the Year.
Then it ends.
After 52 days, 1248 hours, 100 posts, and 4759 hits later, what will the future hold?
Perhaps constant_k summed it up best in the First Mustache Post.
"Behold! The Void.
Vast. Silent. Empty. Stretching out beyond the reach of imagination, or of reason.
But Lo!
From nothingness, it emerges. A shimmering beacon of hope, a city on a hill, no, check that, on a mountain. Forged from pure will, it stands as the lone bastion against the brute forces of nonexistence and chaos.
And I stand at it's christening, firmly clutching the metaphorical bottle of champagne and hoping it doesn't shatter while driving in the metaphorical golden spike.
As I gaze out on this sea of shining faces, I am inspired to give the needy orphans of the world wide web a treasured piece of advice: Hitch your wagon to the stars! Don't just aim high, aim straight up, high as you can see! Just make sure you feed your horses the oats of inspiration and imagination, and they'll be farting moonbeams in no time!
Welcome to the best thing the internet has going for it. The Manly Mustaches Blog. Or as I like to call it, America's Homepage. It's mine, at least.
Check in here for all things mustache, all things bright and beautiful, and all things in general.
Welcome home, Planet Earth."
Let us hope the same sentiment holds true for the Monstar Organization.
Labels: billions and billions, bread
4 Comments:
That's doubtful. Look at all the the 'Staches have accomplished:
+ Transatlantic diplomacy and consequential cultural bonding.
+ Exploration and documentation of lower-class living environs.
+ Political experimentation.
+ The All-Day dunk.
The Monstars stand before a vast mountain of precedent - a precedent that demands mediocrity. The question they must ask is this: do we dare to promote ourselves to such mythical status in so short a period and in so memorable a fashion as our predecessors, the Manly Mustaches? And, if so, what is the price we pay for such provocative establishment?
Seriously, though. You can even check The Forum.
Bread is the most important issue to Forum-goers since abortion.
I, for one, am impressed.
Too bad you guys couldn't do the one thing that counted: beat the sophomores.
I'm glad I grew this specially sculpted mustache to catch my tears before they can go rolling down my cheeks.
Word verification: booab. Soooo close to "boobs."
