A Season In Review

Since our season is officially over as of 8:00 Thursday, and progress reports were just sent out I came up with (or stole from espn.com) the great idea of giving grades to different aspects of our team.

On court success: D+
At the start of the year I had been shooting for a 4-6 record. I figured we could beat Walls' team, which we did, the sophmore team, which we did, Team GPA, I'm still recovering from that one, and Caucasion Invasion, no idea how we lost. We won two games. The fact that we only won two games doesn't quite warrant a D+, but the way we lost some of them does. We got beat be atleast 50 three times and really showed no signs of being able to actually score the entire year. Also the loss to the sophmores at the end really hurt, but I still believe we would have one that game if Kubas would have been there and Josh's black on black tights and shorts combo hadn't.

On the court style: B
Even though we didn't win many games the one game against the Hub City Savages gave us something to be proud of on the court. Day and Bundy's dunk was unreal, Bundy's slip 'n slide into the off the backboard oop to himself was breathtaking and not even TK could match Kubas' two half court shot in a row (he later made three in a row during a pick up game at the Y). The grade, however, is only a B because outside of that game we really didn't have much. Josh did have his behind the back, between the legs layup in our first match up against Awalt's team, but the whole trampoline thing falling apart hurt.

Off the court: A
Off of the court is where the Manly Mustaches really made their impact. To start off with we sold an amazing 65 Mustache shirts, topping even the Showstopper's record. The entire week of our game against Team GPA was also unreal we put up at least 50 posters with four different designs to attract the Mustache faithful to the big game, you can still find a few posters shoved into trophy cabinets. Pregame of our GPA matchup was intense we had player intros with the Chicago Bulls intro music playing and it got our minds completly off our loss in the previous game. At halftime we gave away 2007 season tickets and the autographed basketball by giving away raffle tickets to each of our 15 fans in attendence.
