I'm In Your Cave, Killing Your Bears
In case you haven't heard, there was a false alarm about a school shooter at CLC a few days ago. Since my mom works at CLC, we here at the Kuehn household were a little more closely involved than others: My father recieved an unnerving automated phone call and my mom got to watch the fallout firsthand.
Really the best thing to come out of this whole experience has been this photo of Terry Fairbanks, a teacher in CLC Law Enforcement, walking through the halls with a GODDAMNED M-16. What a dumbass.
I tried a little HILARIOUS photo editing, and of course Paint didn't let me down:In spite of that second image's uncanny awsomeness, I think this picture could be made even more hilarious by a more discerning eye than my own.
For now, I will settle for a CAPTION CONTEST!!!!!
My favorite one so far is "I'm scaring up students for the law enforcement program!"
Whaddya got?

I seriously do not see how you can criticize this guy's actions. It's not like it was a drill — as far as this guy knew, it was a legitimate case of an assialant in the school with a gun. He is an off-duty police officer who is trained to handle such threats, and responded in a reasonable way. The problem is that a false alarm was set out, not the way this guy dealt with it.
sam just wants to shoot someone and have it be justified
Sam, he could have accidentally shot a student or a teacher, or been misidentified as an attacker by a student or a police officer and been hurt or killed himself.
If there ever is a shooter at CLC, I hope they do have a response plan. But it has to be a responsible, carefully plotted plan, exectuted by professionals, and not a half-baked, gung-ho fantasy dreamed up by a teacher with too much firepower and too much time on his hands.
Hey josh I just finished the Shadow of the Torturer.
Book of the New Sun is indeed pretty sweet.

aww the wonderful uses of paint. . . Art is a forte for you, my dear Max.
Now if only you'd grow a heart.
I'd rather be a paint master any day of the week...
Kubassi, the poll is getting dangerously outdated. As soon as you awaken from your death-like trance you should fix that up.
From my aunt:
Coffee refills are ten cents...motherfucker.
I believe that this posting is rather offensive to my good friend Terry. As stated, he is a retired law enforcement officer whose job it is to teach future police officers the skills they need to be a cop. Personally the use of an M-4 carbine was a little much, however, the call to deal with an alleged school shooter (false alarm or not) was dealt with in a matter that this officer felt was justifiable.
There are now several on-duty sheriffs deputies, as well as other law enforcement officers who actively carry their service weapons in the school, just in case some ill tempered and completely retarded idiot decided to walk into the college, or threaten the college with a shooting...the situation can and will be dealt with.
Frankly, CLC does not take their criminal justice law enforcment education lightly...not everyone is cut out to be a cop, and its NOT the type of job that some half cocked highschool student can get...you need a two year degree, and pass a criminal backround check, pass a mental health check and be able to legally carry a firearm. Like the military, to be a police officer, you need to attend an 8 week hands-on SKILLS performance course where you will learn how to handle any situation from high speed chases, to a bloody firefight in the back alley...
Any person who doesnt aquaint themselves with the FULL situation, and get the whole story understood...shouldnt refer to CLC Law Enforcment instructors, or police officers (retired or not) as a dumbass for doing his job.
Let me ask you this, what if there was a shooter in the college? What if it wasnt a false alarm?
If you were in his shoes, and you had the means and the ability to stop the threat...wouldnt you do the same thing?
Hasn't it occured to you that the student or instructor that couldve been shot, couldve been the attacker in the first place...not everybody is innocent!
And just in case you will say that there are other things he couldve done instead of going out (without body armor) and looking for the alleged threat...the answer is yes...he couldve called for local law enforcment to come in and look for the shooter....but let me ask you this...
Your the dean of the college, or the retired cop that teaches future cops like me... would you want to be held responsible for the death or injuries of god only knows how many students and instructors IF there wasnt a false alarm? Especially when you had the access, the means, and the training to deal with the situation yourself?
I say again, what if it wasnt a false alarm? and there was a shooter in the school...I bet yould be the one dumbass that would be a coward and wait for cops to show up and haul the dead and the wounded away...even if you couldve stopped it from happening...
You dont have to say anything, but unless you are a police officer, and serve on the tactical team....dont you ever insult the decisions made by a vetran police officer, given the situation at hand.
