A caravan of goodbyes

What started out as a trivial ouster of whom some folks believed to be a lackluster blogger has now erupted into a caravan of goodbyes.

Josh Bundy tried to show some vague so-called attachment for me by invoking the fading Hopkins connection, but I am sorry Josh, that does not stir up my emotions as much.

I am wholeheartedly with Maxwell on this issue partly because he is the one reason I am on this blog, but mainly because I believe he is absolutely right in this case. The blog, and not Bock, occupies paramount importance. And who is Bock to claim that this blog is sinking like a ship anyway?Only because he left does not mean he has the license to make unjustified statements.
I don't believe this is a grown-up, mature way to react to criticism.

Andrew Kubas, I respected you during the time that I got to know you (mainly through speech), but forgive me if I do not approve of your departure. Bock may have been your friend, but I hardly think this is the right way to care for the blog.

So Maxwell, I hope you are with me on this.I am sincerely for keeping this blog alive. So what if I got to know you people only for a year?I am quite attached to this blog, and frankly this is one of the biggest entertainment in my life (apart from the blow-hard make-believe pundit Stephen Colbert).

Edit: I see you made a post before I could finish this one Max.
Let's keep this blog alive, Maxwell.

I respect your opinion and all Tirth, but Kubas had every right to leave the blog. To me, friendship should supersede the success of a blog.

This controversy has done the opposite of killing the blog, it seems to have revitalized it. Five posts in one day, that must be a mustache record.

I don't think friendship/blog membership is necessarily an either/or proposition in this case. I mean, we're Kubas's friends too, but here he's ditched us in support of someone else.

That said, I support Kubas's right to blog where he chooses to.

Also, I disagree with the poll question: "Did Bock deserve to be forced off the blog?"

That's a loaded question. It implies that Bock was forced to leave, when in reality he had the choice to stay on.

As I said, I didn't just up and remove him.

There was no real choice. Rather than be the asshole who caused a founding Mustache choose to leave his domain, Bock (a long time fan) chose to leave himself. There was no real choice, it was a ridiculously concocted ultimatum. Force off is all you can call it.

I'm a pretty easy-going guy. You should know that Max; but the way you handled the situation does not sit well with me. As the situation stands, I do not know if I can remain a reader of this formerly fine blog.

i stayed a little longer for just this purpose, because i knew it would happen.

tirth - i don't know you. i wanted to write a personal message to each mustache member (and some douchebag) telling them goodbye. i realize i should have never said anything to you, because you are not a member of the manly mustaches. i apologize for trying to be a nice guy and including you with something you are not truly a part of.

which brings me to my next point - how is tirth any different from bock? i see no difference between tirth's posts and bock's. if bock's didn't add to the blog, then tirth's sure didn't. i also see no difference in the way each man was added to the blog. tirth was added quite randomly, without the consent of any members (as far as i know). at least kurt approved bock at one point (i recall something like "i approve" or something like that in one of kurt's posts.)

i finally leave now, after getting my last comment in.

oh, max - dude, really, not that we had a bangin-ass friendship or anything, but you're still my homie. you're a good guy and i didn't mean to attack you in my last post - if you felt that way.

Can't read it. And i'm fine with Bock being added as a contributer.

I'm with Bundy on this one, I found both Tirth's and Bock's posts entertaining at times, and quite boring at others.

Stich you're right, we need to settle this the manly way, a mustache growing competition

guys, what you need to do is kill the mustache blog. it will just never be the same again with all these angry emotions being expressed. they will just eat away at it like a disease for the rest of its days.

take it from me. i have survived the destruction of many blogs. it isnt worth it to cling to something that can hardly be called a life, it is better to just end it and start again.

go west, young ones, go west. start anew. you are young, you will be able to make it.

You guys are cool, and I don't mean to attack anyone personally. I just hope things work out on a personal level, even though I don't think the 'staches will ever be the same.

This is the biggest load of fucking bullshit I have ever seen in my life, guys.

Max?? WTF
"Did Bock deserve to be forced off the blog?"

"That's a loaded question. It implies that Bock was forced to leave, when in reality he had the choice to stay on."

You know damn well you would have been pissed beyond relief and curled yourself into a little ball off in some corner until the sun didn't shine if Bock had even attempted to stay on after the lame-ass kindergarten flirtation you pulled on him.
Couldn't you have just once thought about somebody other than yourself.

Let's just not consult anyone else and add Tirth.
Let's just do everything your way, and not give one damn if anyone is unsatisfied, because you know full well that no one would have said anything to you Max. You know why?? Because they thought you were their friend, when quite frankly - this all just goes to show the true levels of your so called FRIENDSHIP. Yeh, because putting knives in peoples' backs and sticking tacks in their chairs before they even sit down is a REAL good way to make some legit friends.

I used to love the blog, for some unexplainable reason, "The Mustache Nation" was something I so wanted in on. But now I've realized that it is headed by nothing by conceited amateurs that don't know the first thing about yourselves, much less the concept of a working "nation."

You don't just go around telling Hawaii that you hate their tropical splendor and threaten them to the high heavens.
no.
You let them be.

None of this would have happened if you would have just let Bock alone.

So thanks to you all who have made this the real high light of my day.
I don't know what is to become of it, but I know it will never be the same.
I hope you all can go on with a little less drama in your college filled lives someday after this blows over.
Thanks for starting something that had so much meaning.

Shame on you, Max, for getting my hopes up only to let me down.
Big time.

Wow, everyone's entitled to their opinions, and I respect where most people are coming from, but come on Tirth, I thought you could read. In no way did I ever say that the blog would die without me. I did imply that after I left, the blog would keep on keepin' on as it always had until some day in the far off future it would fade away as I'm sure all blogs inevitably do.

Seriously man, I have nothing against you.You are too good to be not liked.
And trust me, I only said what I said because I thought your comments after you left were undignified and unjustified.
They reflected undue resentment and jealousy.
Thats the only reason I said what I said.

And I can't understand why everyone is jumping on the bandwagon raising the question about my addition now?
Why couldn't they speak when I was added, huh?
Delayed reactions...

Tirth buddy,
you know I love ya. But what ticked me off is that I was only issued an ultimatum. Not once was anyone (important) critical of my posts to me before this whole shitslinging fest started. If someone had raised an issue or suggested ways of improving my posts or even just said "don't post so much" I would have followed that advice. Somehow I don't think that was the issue though...
