It was me.
Bock is an okay guy. I don't hate him. I just really dislike his blog posts. They were long and boring and not entertaining or clever. They made me not want to read the blog. That's a dealbreaker for me.
I didn't want to be an jerk about it and pull rank and stir up a huge public shitstorm, so I sent a message to Kubas, then to Bock, explaining that I didn't want to be on the blog if he was going to continue posting. I told him he could make the call. He chose to leave.
This decision was NOT influenced by Josh Mattson. He just happens to agree with me on this one particular topic.
That said: Fuck You, Justin Bock, for your high-handed final post. I'd rather have a few quality posts a week than three shitty, boring ones a day. This blog was here long before you and will continue on its course just the same as if you'd never been here.
Andrew Kubas, I'm sorry you saw the need to quit the blog, I assume in protest. You're a good blogger and a good friend.
Maybe I could have been more straightforward about it, but I acted for the good of the blog. I will not apologize for that.

What was wrong with Bock? He wasn't hurting the blog. He was needed for a little rejuvenation of the blog. And I know it was a little sarcastic when you said he posts 3 times a day, but c'mon you did too. We all did when we first created the blog. (okay maybe not me) But regrardless, what is with your panties in a bundle?

Hey guys um I don't know how to say this, but you guys need to kiss and make up or something because the blog is one of 3 or 4 things that keep me from going emo up here in moorhead. I personally enjoyed Bock's posts, but that's just me and it's probably because i've huffed my fair share of paint thinner over the years.All i'm saying is you should figure out what the hell you're all doing and i hope all of you keep posting... I need this.

I have to say Max, you're acting a lot like Sam. This isn't exclusively your blog,(although I'll admit you are the heart and soul) this is the type of thing you should consult other members/readers before doing. For that reason I put up a new poll on the side bar, since the other was slightly outdated.
LAAAAME.
Bock was pretty much the only regular contributor on the blog. The reason his posts seemed to be "3 times a day" was the disparity of posts by other contributors.
Max, quite honestly, that was a pretty dick move. Why not give the guy a chance to practice his wit and writing? You had the chance to provide him with feedback if you did or did not like the content of his posts. I was thankful for the posts from this youthful voice new to the blog and for the updates of home. I'm sorry his sense of humor differed from yours.
Also, I believe the imagery of the ship slowly sinking was fairly accurate. Even this summer the posts were slowing. Especially without Kubas, this dying blog will at most live a crippled life.
dude sucks. and no, i am not a member of the "mustache nation", but i was doing this blogging shit back when you all were in middle school and i know a lame blogger when i see one.
also i happen to know that other readers of this blog thought he was pretty weak. but i mean, the tay thing was just dumb.
I don't think blog should shut down because of this "crisis."

That was a very high-handed and pompous farewell address by Bock.
Cameron: He'd been given a chance to prove his wit, with the 20 posts he'd already made. And this blog has had slow times before and weathered them just fine. Believe it or not, they don't kick you off the internet if you don't post enough.
Kurt: I kind of am a lot like Sam. This was not an executive decision; I didn't kick bock off. It was a personal one. I didn't want to be on the same blog as bock, and I let him make the call as to who left.

Legitimate points (with the exception of Mattson's second to last comment) - however, I believe the situation could have been handled with more class on all parts. The Tay criticisms weren't cool, but some friendly guidance regarding the aims of the Manly Mustaches' Blog would have been apt for a friend of fellow mustache Andrew Kubas. If after some guidance you still didn't feel he was up to mustard, by all means, ask him to leave. The suddenness of Max's ultimatum would be very insulting, and his last post is not in the least surprising and not without its truths.
If you don't believe he acted with class and maturity, please, set the example and man up.

yeah bock's posts sucked and so i didn't read them. i don't know what he said about tay nor do i care. nothing personal, i have nothing against the guy, he just writes boring posts that i don't care about.
that said, i just skipped em. it's not a big deal to me one way or the other whether he ever posts again; the only part that saddens me is the departure of kubas and bundy, whose posts, though infrequent, i read with great joy. but whatever. it's just a blog.
